ABOUT
Our Essence - The Fabric of Who We Are
At the Nile Valley Temple of Amen, we are Nile Valley descendants predating the predynastic era of Ancient Kemet, widely known as Ancient Egypt. Our forefathers and mothers created mathematical systems, spiritual systems, agricultural and other sciences, chemistry, masonry and diplomacy in the form of the 42 Laws of Ma'at.
The bloodline of our pharaonic rule has been preserved and is still being practiced today in Idah, Kogi State Nigeria where our 83rd King the Attah Igala HRM Mathew Alaji Oguche Akpa II ruling as Priest-King in the Igala Kingdom. There is archaeological evidence of pyramid structures called "mounds' that were built in multiple places. These mounds were later destroyed through colonization with only one remaining - the Erane temple located in Ofiji, Idah. There was a stone medium pyramid that was toppled down after 1956 leaving only the mound shape which still stands today.

The Erane Temple is an Earth Shrine built after the Nile Valley descendants who are now called Igala/Gala (Gara/Gola, Ngala/Ngara/Ngola[Angola}, Nago/Nago/Ngo/Niji) migrated around 500 BCE. This temple is built to the Earth God Geb also known as Ere-ane( or Ojo-ane). This is a normal practice carried out before any new home or community is built in order to secure the community from failed crops, disease and other misfortunes.

The Igala's (as they are widely known) also have the remnants of an "earth tumulus" where kings or high priest were buried. The only one remaining is located there at the Igala Kingdom headquarters in Idah, Kogi State.
The title "Attah" derives from Aat/Ata as an Ancient Egyptian word meaning "The Great One, Elder, Father". This is a traditional title like the Greek corrupted word "pharaoh" which means "Great House". Queen Aat/Ata was the wife of Pharaoh Amenemhet III who ruled from for a period of roughly 46 years. The Attah still wears the red and white serpent crown on his head. The same traditions practiced thousands of years ago and currently in practice today.

Due to the ban placed on the Igala Kingdom by the colonizers fifty years ago, the Igala history and culture has been rather obscured. Honoring Attah Igala Ameh Oboni I (his father) wishes, in 2013 Attah Idakwo Ameh Oboni II embraced the initiative to reunite all the Igala people and give them back their names and identities that were stripped away when colonizers renamed towns and tribal associations in order to divide and conquer the whole of Africa.
In 2014, Attah Idakwo Ameh Oboni II appointed HRH Ayegba Abdullahi Adojoh as Ejuh Ata and Ambassador for the Igala Kingdom's worldwide unification program. The United Nations designated The International Decade for People of African Descent, proclaimed by General Assembly resolution 68/237 and to be observed from 2015 to 2024. Our Ambassador incorporated the United Igala Peoples Network to organize the reconnection and preservation of the Igala people and Our culture. Igala kingdom has been reconnecting loved ones throughout the whole of Africa from Sudan and Ethiopia to Brazil and the Americas with so many more countries soon to follow. We are a "Rainbow Tribe" with members of many shades of colors and honoring our own personal religious choices like our Ancestors before us. Religion is a man-made set of rules and regulations to govern the body and the minds ...whereas Spirituality, which was practiced by our Nile Valley Ancestors, frees the Spirit from torments of matter encouraging spiritual attainment and oneness.
